IGN talked with Nina Dobrev about what’s in store for the future of both Elena and Katherine. Read the rest of the interview here.

IGN: There was a brief split between Elena and Stefan, but they were quickly drawn back together. But it will obviously be an ongoing debate among the fans, as far as those who want her with Damon. Damon had that big moment with her, when he expressed all of his feelings, only to make her forget he did. Does that close that door for now?

Dobrev: Of course, Elena doesn’t know, because Damon didn’t outright tell her… but she knows. You know when someone likes you or is in love with you. I don’t honestly know where their relationship is going to go or what’s going to happen. I do know that they’re starting to somewhat understand each other now and she’s starting to feel for him and feel sorry for him. But she can’t help who she loves and she can’t help who she has a connection with. It’s there and there’s nothing that you can do about it, except deny it or indulge it and she’s been denying it up until now. She hasn’t been indulging and I don’t know if she will or not, but we’ll see.
